WSU's Keefe, Boise's Fuller Miss 1500 Final

Eugene - Washington State's Kaili Keefe and Boise State's Alexis Fuller missed out on the 1500 meter final in the prelims yesterday at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon at the 2018 NCAA Division 1 Track and Field Championships.


Keefe, a graduate of West Valley High School (Yakima) in 2016, ran 4:15.39 missing the last qualifying spot for the final field by 4/100ths of a second. Keefe would end her sophomore campaign with a lifetime best time. She is now number 2 on the all-time WSU school list in the 1500, according to the school.

Fuller, the junior from Boise, ran 4:15.92 in the same heat as Keefe finishing behind her. Fuller ran for Union High School in Vancouver, Washington. She competed against Keefe at the WIAA 4A Track and Cross meets when they both were in high school.


Both girls received All-American honorable mention honors.


Making her first NCAA Track and Field Championships appearance, Washington's Emily Hamlin placed 19th in the 3000 meter steeplechase prelim, also earning her All-American honorable mention. Her time was 10:14.71.


Washington's Amy Eloise-Neale will run the 5000 meter final on Saturday.
