Interviews with The Runner WA: Selah's Shea Mattson

Shea Mattson put together an incredible senior cross country season he won't ever forget this past fall.

Not only was Mattson the runner-up at the 2A state championships running a new personal best time of 15:24.2, the week prior he had broken the Apple Ridge 3-mile high school course time running 14:49.

Growing up 18 minutes away from the course in Yakima, the Selah senior remembers going to meets to watch his dad coach his teams and dreaming of the day when he would have the opportunity to make his mark.

Mattson joins Keenan Gray from The Runner WA for another edition of Interviews with The Runner WA. We look back on Mattson's historical senior cross country season and reflect on his career as a Selah Viking before he heads off to the University of Idaho in the fall to run for the Vandals and pursue a degree in broadcasting.
