Flashback Friday:Mason McHenry

One of the best 800 runners in Whatcom County History didn't even run track till his junior year of high school and is the record holder for Sehome High School in the 400, 800, and 1600. Mason McHenry went on to run for Arizona State University and win a National Championship in the Indoor 800.

-Graduate of Sehome High School (2005-2008).

-Holds school records in the 400, 800, and 1600.

-2A State Champion in 800 (2008).

-2A State Champion in 1600 (2007).

-Personal best 400: 48.44 (2A Sub District Meet, 2007).

-Personal best 800: 1:52.46 (2A Sub District Meet, 2008).

-Personal best 1600: 4:12.56 (Shoreline Invite, 2008).

-Placed 7 times at State in both Cross and Track.

-Won a total of 39 races in track and 3 cross races.

-Ran for Arizona State University (2009-2012).

-Personal best Indoor 800: 1:47.76 (Iowa State NCAA Qualifier, 2009).

-Personal best Outdoor 800: 1:48.25 (ASU Invite, 2009).

-Personal best Outdoor 1500: 3:48.01 (Sun Angel Track Classic, 2009).

-Personal best Indoor Mile: 4:06.47 (Husky Classic, 2012).

-National Champion in Indoor 800 meter (2012)

-2x MPSF Indoor 800 Champion.

-Holds indoor ASU record in 800.

-Member of the school record breaking DMR team (2010).
