NWC JV Invite Takes Place At Civic Stadium

Bellingham - 4 Whatcom County schools brought their JV level kids to Civic Stadium for the NWC JV Invite hosted by Squalicum. The schools include Squalicum, Ferndale, Bellingham, and Sehome.


In the boy's meet, Squalicum's Jacob Gervasis and Sam Clark won their respective races as Gervasis won the 1600 in 4:57.1 and Clark won the 3200 in 11:10.26. Bellingham's Evan Hildreth won the 800 with a time of 2:22.38. Hildreth also placed 2nd in the 1600 by 2 tenths of a second.


Ferndale's Spencer Leland placed 3rd in the 800 (2:26.74), Fisher Drury placed 3rd in the 1600 (5:11.89) and James Pearson and Nolan Ramirez took the 2-3 spots in the 3200 (11:55.88, 11:58.46)


Sehome's top performers were Javen Reid and Josh Frazier in the 1600 with 4th and 5th place finishes.


In the girl's meet, Bellingham's Claire Campbell ran a personal best time of 6:01.59 to win the 1600, followed by her teammate Skye Saling finishing in 2nd running 6:03.68. Sehome's Jonquil Loffelholz finished in the 3rd spot with of 6:16.97.


Campbell also had another top placing in the 3200 finishing in 2nd in 12:09.63 and Saling finished 3rd in 12:10.53.


Ferndale's Elisa Herter won the 3200 in a personal best time of 12:01.67. Squalicum freshman Kristina Montero-Duong won the 800 with a personal best, 2:47.49.
